The rise of the eco friendly fashion or sustainable fashion is changing not just how Bangladesh’s apparel and textile manufactures produce, but their approach to culture and values for their factories as well. Globally not only is Bangladesh one of the lowest emitters of CO2, but it is also taking lead in saving the environment.
The government, working with the many clothing manufacturers associations, has already started executing a long term plan to phase out emissions and invest in eco friendly technology to meet growing global demands for green fashion. 150 factories have already applied for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) by the U.S. Green Building Council & out of the 10 highest rated LEED factories, 4 factories originated from Bangladesh.
This video by BGMEA describes the scenario.
